Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at nick@border-werx.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No, not if integral colors are added during the mixing process, and a  sealer is applied to prevent fading. Resealing is a good maintenance  practice every 1-2 years. Borderwerx keeps track of what colors and  mix ratios were used at your residence. If we ever have to come back to  add more curbing, we have an accurate record of what colors were used.

Pricing is based primarily on the number of lineal feet extruded per job site as well as curb style. Factors such as ground preparation problems, number of different  areas to be done, coloring, stamping and travel distance may affect  the price. This is why we give FREE consultations. We need to see the  site before we can give you a firm quote.

With a little care and maintenance concrete edging will last many years.  Moisture is the primary enemy of any concrete structure, therefore we  seal all of our work with a commercial grade acrylic clear sealer.  Periodic re-sealing every other year will help assure a long and healthy life  for your concrete edging. Call Nick if you need your existing curbing  resealed.

Depending on the type and footage of the installation, the complete  process normally takes only one day. As far as damage to the property,  we mix all our products on site in a special trailer built for this  process. No heavy vehicles or equipment of any kind will come on the  property. Standard equipment used will be the  curb machine and  wheel barrels for the cement. Our professional team ensures that the  yard is cleaned upon job completion.

All concrete will crack. Our concrete is mixed to precise  specifications, 3500psi, and meets the quality of the concrete found  around your home today. To control cracking, we install control joints  every 18-24 inches. We also install fiber mesh as well as an admixture in the mixing process of the  concrete to assure strength. In addition at an additional charge we can  add Stainless Steel cable throughout or around tree rings to increase  stability.
